Week 1 / Restore Balance
Learn to feel where balance and imbalance exists in your life and how to respond appropriately to restore equilibrium.

- Learn how we contribute to & are affected by a culture of imbalance and what we can do to change it.
- How the dynamic relationship of yin & yang works in our lives
- The effects of imbalance on ourselves & our environment
- Developing a true relationship with the natural world based on mutual support and respect.
Week 2 /Do Less, Be More
Learn to relax the tendency to over-control & over-effort so you can attract and receive what you need and allow the universe to create through you.
Topics we'll explore:
- Discovering the YIN POWER that allows us to attract what we desire by becoming more like it.
- Resisting the habit of busyness, force & control and learning to join with the flow of life.
- Strengthening your openness to receiving and trusting the loving support of the universe.
- Developing deep "listening ability" to access intuitive guidance and wisdom.
Week 3 / Slow Down & Enjoy the Ride
Learn how to avoid being a bystander in your life and experience more wonder and joy by fully inhabiting the present moment
Topics we'll explore:
- Overcoming the fears and habits that prevent you from slowing down and really being present for your life.
- Opening to life’s beauty and magnificence and discovering a connection to the sacred in everyday life
- Creating a truly meaningful relationship with the natural world that nourishes, supports and guides you
- Creating lasting improvements to your mental health by noticing and savoring positive experiences
Week 4 / Release Your Way to Peace & Freedom
Discover how true surrender can lead us to new possibilities, greater freedom and lasting peace.
Topics we'll explore:
- Softening your defenses and allowing yourself to experience life with greater equanimity & acceptance
- Regaining sanity by saying no to overconsumption and overstimulation.
- Releasing the shackles of the "wanting mind" and discovering the real key to lasting happiness
- How overstimulation affects your mind & mood and techniques from Yoga & Taoism that alleviate mental overload and bring clarity and focus.
Week 5 / Turn from Outside to Inside
Reclaim your personal power & dignity in a world obsessed with "likes" and "followers".
Topics we'll explore:
- How to soften the voice of of self-criticism and shame and release yourself from the comparison trap
- How self compassion actually makes us less self involved and more open and loving.
- Developing an inner well-spring of love and trust as the basis for genuine power and self worth.
- Resisting the temptation to look outside ourselves for validation (including exploration of the Instagram culture's devastating effect on mental health)
Week 6 / Balanced, Whole, Connected
Become an active participant in the creation of a healthier world during this time of collective awakening
Topics we'll explore:
- Moving away from the ego based fears that lead to competition, dominance & power struggles and opening to a heart based consciousness that perceives a world of unity rather than separation.
- Shifting the paradigm from WHAT CAN I GET to WHAT CAN I GIVE and learning to share with others in a way that EXPANDS rather than depletes oneself.
- Opening to the embodied, spiritually of The Divine Feminine that perceives spiritual consciousness as not outside ourselves but within us and within daily life

For someone who teaches Yin Yoga, I have always had an inordinate amount of Yang energy. This yang drive helped me complete graduate school and begin a successful career in New Orleans. I felt confident and in control until the life I had worked so hard to "achieve" was suddenly washed away by Hurricane Katrina.
I decided to take a temporary sabbatical from my career to go “figure things out” at the Esalen Institute in Big Sur, California. I arrived eager to get my life back on track and asked for “homework assignments” to ensure quick progress. My request was met with a laugh as I was told "your homework is to REST!”
Rest? I don’t have time to rest, I thought! Well actually, I guess I did because instead of staying for 8 weeks, I remained for 18 months. When I finally left, it was no longer as a healthcare executive, but as a yoga teacher, with a newfound appreciation for slowing down and living a more balanced life.
Since that time my energy has been devoted to studying and teaching yoga. I have had the fortunate opportunity to study with some of the world's most renowned teachers including Sally Kempton, Sarah Powers, Richard Miller and Sianna Sherman. I have completed advanced trainings in Yin Yoga & Yoga Therapy and engage in on-going study of Taoism, Qigong, Ayurveda and Tantric Philosophy. In addition I hold a Master of Public Health Degree from UCLA and a BA in Psychology from the University of California, Berkeley.
